HELPf or diabetes work (type 2)

HELP!?!? for diabetes work (type 2)?
ok if any body wants, PLEASE can they change this paragraph into their own words for me =D Type 2 diabetes mellitus (known as type 2 diabetes for short) is a metabolic disorder in which either the pancreas doesn’t make enough insulin or the cells of the body become resistant to insulin. Your body needs insulin to regulate the levels of sugar (glucose) in your bloodstream. Type 2 diabetes often goes hand in hand with obesity, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It used to be known as adult-onset diabetes or non-insulin-dependent diabetes. These terms aren’t used any more, because type 2 diabetes is increasingly affecting younger people and some people with type 2 diabetes have to use insulin. Thanks Xxxx

diabetico 2 is like know as a tpye or 2 diabetes like innit.

Type 2 diabetes is usually a genetic disease. It can often start as being insulin resistant. This means that the pancreas is making a lot of insulin, but the body is not using it correctly. Later in life, the pancreas may become tired and weak from being over worked, and now is not making enough insulin. When a person is insulin resistant, some of them may learn to control the disease with a good diet and exercise. However, most of us must take oral medictions, or insulin, and sometimes both. Type 2 diabetics are not always overweight. In fact, 51% of type 2's are not or ever have been overweight. Type 2 can cause some weight gain in the beginning months when it first develops, but most of the time it causes weight loss, sometimes severe. Many do not have high blood pressure or high cholesterol. No one knows the cause of type 2 diabetes for sure, but many times it is passed down from generation to generation. It has been in my family for the past 6 generations, and it does not "skip" a generation as some people think. But on the other hand, just because a person has a high risk factor for the disease, it does not mean they will develop it. There is absolutely no prevention for type 2 diabetes, although, a healthy diet and daily exercise can delay the development of it, but can not prevent it.

Discuss the patient’s diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. How would you diagnosis a child with this

Discuss the patient’s diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. How would you diagnosis a child with this?
Case Study #1: Diabetes Hannah is a 10-year-old girl who has recently been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. She is a 4th grade student at Hendricks Elementary School. Prior to her diagnosis, Hannah was very involved in sports and played on the girls volleyball team. Her mother is concerned about how the diagnosis will affect Hannah. 1. Discuss the patient’s diagnosis. Include a definition of the actual disease or condition. Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus once known as “juvenile onset” diabetes or “insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus,” is a chronic disorder of carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism caused by inadequate production of insulin by the pancreas or faulty use of insulin by the cells. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert sugar (glucose) into energy. Although type 1 diabetes can develop at any age, it typically appears during childhood or adolescence. 2. Identify the factors which could have caused or lead to the particular disease or condition. 3. Describe the signs and symptoms which are associated with the disease or condition. 4. Discuss the diagnostic testing that is usually performed in order to formally diagnose the particular disease or condition. 5. Identify the appropriate treatment (including therapies, medications, etc) which the patient may be prescribed for his/her particular diagnosis. 6. Discuss potential barriers to therapy which the patient may experience due to their unique situation. 7. Discuss alternative treatments which may also benefit the patient. 8. Describe the typical prognosis for a patient with the disease or condition. 9. Identify patient teaching which would benefit the patient in your case study. I have to do a paper for school and looking for a good website to answer these question.

Why are people with diabetes mellitus (specifically type 2) immunocompromised

Why are people with diabetes mellitus (specifically type 2) immunocompromised?

1 :
A couple reasons. One is that the high blood sugar is really attractive to and feeds bacteria, so people w DM get infections easier, faster and worser :) Also, over time the body nerves get poisoned so they don't fight as well - like developing fevers to kill off infections. And the sugars saturate the proteins in the blood that do signalling, so your body doesn't send the fighting cells to kill infecting organisms, AND the fighting cells aren't as good at fighting! THEN Diabetes attacks the kidneys, and all of the above gets worse because toxins build up in the blood and interfere with the millions of chemical reactions that generally kill little buggers!! LOUSY DISEASE! Keep your waist LESS THAN 35 inches at all times to not develop DM!
2 :
WBC which fight infections also need to metabolize glucose for effective functioning. In uncontrolled diabetes WBC do not function optimally. That`s why diabetics of all types are imunocompromised.
3 :
They let their diabetes go uncontrolled too long.

Catholics,Baptist, Evangelicals etc-is type 2 diabetes a sin

Catholics,Baptist, Evangelicals etc-is type 2 diabetes a sin?
Are people who have this sinning and their illness is caused by their sin,and not due to pathology for Gods glory(when things get fixed to glorify God with new technology etc), because this diabetes is heavily linked to lifestyle choices like being overweight and eating unhealthy sugar filled foods etc and it isnt purely genetical either because people who move to places like America develop it more then their genetic groups who didnt move and remained in the old country. So is diabetes 2 sin? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diabetes_mellitus_type_2

No, but we are what we eat.

Many thin people have diabetes 2. I am struggling with pre-diabetes blood sugar levels, despite being in the healthy weight range, and am very careful with my diet and eating patterns. Disease is mostly from living in our Satan-ruled world.
4 :
Behavior, such as gluttony or sloth, which may be factors in developing the condition could be sinful, but not the actual disease itself. ". . . receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error." Romans 1: 27 Not to point fingers at anyone; I love food myself.

In untreated type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus

In untreated type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus...?
the fasting blood glucose concentration is below 4 - 6 mmol L-1 True/False??

I don't know for sure, because the measurement you are using is unfamiliar to me. Here in the US, the measurement for well controlled blood sugar is a reading between 70-120 mg/DL (milligrams per deciliter). I think your measurement is in moles and conversion from one measure to the other depends on molecular weight. But, as I recall the conversion for blood sugar is to divide 70-120 mg/DL by 18 which would yield a range of 3.8-6.6 mmol.
2 :
False. Normal fasting blood glucose is that level. Untreated diabetics have levels above 11,1 mmol/l

Management of electrolyte derangement in mellitus type 2 diabetes

Management of electrolyte derangement in mellitus type 2 diabetes?
i would like to know the effects of the drug diabinase on the electrolyte[such as hco3,cl,na ,k] levels
Diabetes - 1 Answers

diabinase has no effect upon your buffer sustem. your bicarbonate and salt levels are controlled by exercise, diet , use of diuretics, emetics, bowel activity, puke and poop syndrom. you can go into metabolic acidosis by fasting. if your blood sugar bottoms out by exceeding proper dosing of diabinase, you can (remote possibility) enter inter into acidosis, but not likely..

All foods are converted into glucose by the body. Fats in 6-8 hours or more, Proteins (meat, eggs, beans) in 3-4 hours, and Carbohydrates in 30 minutes. Carbohydrates include starches such as rice, pasta, breads and cereals. A proper diet will combine fats, carbohydrates, and proteins at each meal, to provide nutrients and create an even release of glucose into the blood. Whole Grain carbohydrates turn into sugar slowly and help keep the blood sugar stable. Avoid sugar and high amounts of carbohydrates. Eat moderate, balanced meals at regular times. Losing weight helps control Diabetes.
