Meshashringi and Eleotin, a herbal remedy are two top plants effective.
2 :
gymnema sylvestre and holy basil
3 :
Unfortunately, plants will not cure or treat diabetes. You need medication, diet and exercise to treat diabetes. Nothing will cure it. Come out of the garden and go to a doctor. Good luck.

What is the different of treatment between diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2

What is the different of treatment between diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2?

Diabetes 1 your body produces no insulin and you must take insulin to keep your blood sugar under control (diet, excercise and oral hypoglycemics will sometimes be given to help control sugars). Diabetes 2 your body does not produce enough insulin so treatment is aimed at helping your body control sugar ... start by controlling diet, then add oral hypoglycemics (metformin, glyburide, avandia etc...) and insulin only if necessary. HbAic test to see wether treatment is helping with longterm sugar control. Hope this helps, C
2 :
So far there has not yet found a cure to cure diabetes, but proper medication, good diet and some changes in lifestyle can help people with diabetes to lead a virtually normal life while avoiding long-term problems and complications often associated with the disease.

What does obesity have to do with diabetes mellitus type 2 and why

What does obesity have to do with diabetes mellitus type 2 and why ?

1 :
Obesity is a sign that you've had "metabolic syndrome" for too long and that you're overworking your endocrine system which causes excess fat storage and "insulin resistance". For those who are genetically susceptible, you can become type two diabetic as a result. FYI, you don't have to be obese to become type two diabetic. You do have to eat a lot of crappy food, though. It's a bit more complicated than that and if you're really interested, you can read the articles in the source box below:
2 :
Being obese or overweight puts you at significant risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Four out of five people with type 2 diabetes are overweight or obese. “One of the links with obesity is that fat induces a mild, low-grade inflammation throughout the body that contributes to heart disease and diabetes,” Excess fat, especially abdominal fat, also changes the way that your body responds to insulin, leading to a condition called insulin resistance. With this condition, your cells cannot use insulin to process blood sugar out of the blood, resulting in high blood sugar levels. While not everyone with insulin resistance develops diabetes, people with insulin resistance are at increased risk of type 2 diabetes.
3 :
Obesity is generally (and I do NOT mean everyone who is obese) a result of poor eating habits and lack of exercise. From what my doc told me, (I am obese and it IS my fault) is that I was eating way to many refined carbs, and not exercising to lose the extra sugar. The extra sugar is being stored as fat, and this layer of fat is preventing the insulin that my body is producing from doing it's job. He honestly feels that I had maintained healthy eating habits and exercised like I should of have, that I might not now have diabetes. Since being diagnosed, I have been eating a properly carb controlled diet and exercising. I started out on the following meds: insulin 25cc of 70/30 before each meal, 5mg glyburide, and metformin 500mg 2 x's a day. I have went from 213 pounds (4'10") to 192 pounds and I am no longer on the insulin or glyburide, only metformin. So even losing that much, eating right, and exercising has made a major difference.

Is too much sugar directly responsible for diabetes mellitus type 2

Is too much sugar directly responsible for diabetes mellitus type 2?
To avoid sugar after the onset of diabetes mellitus is well known... but could avoiding sugar before the onset of the disease reduce the occurence of the disease... if so whats the pathophysiology....

No not at all, unless eating too much sugar is the main cause of obesity, and obesity can cause type 2 diabetes. read this, if u havent already http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_2_diabetes i hope that helps!!!
2 :
There is no such thing as diabetes mellitus type 2 Fact Diabetes mellitus is also known as type 1 diabetes, also you do not have to avoid sugar if you have type 1. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease and is not caused by eating too much sugar, if you reduce the amount of sugar you eat it makes no difference to the disease other than you will have better control but once you have type 1 you will have it for life and is only treatable by insulin injections Fact type 2 diabetes mainly effects adults and is brought on by bad diet, obesity, lifestyle etc, you should reduce you weight and diet. type 2 is usually treated by diet only and tablets Im not sure where you get the well known fact for your statement above, must be in the place where all the people go that know nothing about diabetes
3 :
Avoiding sugar won't stop the onset of diabetes. While to much sugar isn't good for anyone, the diabetes factor is different. High blood sugar causing diabetes is the result of the pancreas not producing enough insulin.
4 :
No, too much sugar is NOT responsible for diabetes. And after the onset of type 2 it is important to reduce carbohydrates, sugar just happens to be one. It is just as important to watch how much rice or potatoes or white bread or milk is consumed as it is sugar. Also "Fully" needs to work on her facts and stop going to "that place where all the people go that know nothing about diabetes" because her "facts" are wrong! She may be a type 1 diabetic but that does not make her an expert on diabetes. Type 2 is a type of diabetes mellitus and is not brought on by bad diet, obesity, lifestyle etc, but is a genetic or hereditary disease.
5 :
There are several ways to test: 1) A simple urine test will give an indication for howhigh your blood sugar is. 2) They can do a resting blood sugar test to see how high your sugar is. 3) They can do a Hemoglobin A1C to see on average, how high your sugar has been. Symptoms of diabetes include: Weight loss, irritability, sudden poor eyesight, insatiable thirst, leg cramps when you lay down, horrid pain in your kidneys, increased urination
6 :
Probably not

How does type 1 diabetes mellitus differ from type 2 diabetes mellitus

How does type 1 diabetes mellitus differ from type 2 diabetes mellitus?

Diabetes - 4 Answers

1 :
type 1 there is no insulin production so insulin therapy is required. Insuling Dependent type 2 there is little insulin production, insulin may or may not be needed. Can be fixed with diet and exercise.
2 :
Type 1 Diabetes is caused by the failure of an internal organ called the Pancreas. this organ produces insulin. When the organ fails, there is no insulin, and the patient is in danger of dying unless they take insulin injections every day for the rest of their life. Type 2 Diabetes is caused by being overweight. This comes from eating to much and not exercising enough. In Type 2 diabetes, the pancreas is probably still working, but it cannot produce ENOUGH insulin for all that fat! Treatment for Type 2 diabetes is controlling the diet, especially cutting out sugars and carbohydrates, get a LOT more exercise, and losing weight. Sometimes, some medicinal help is needed until the patient learns a better lifestyle. the GOAL of managing Type 2 Diabetes is to get the patient to lean how to eat properly, exercise more, and control their weight. if the patient is successful at this, then the medications can be eliminated.
3 :
Gary B said it nicely, but I would like to add and correct a few things: Type 1. The pancreas is working just fine for a diabetic (for the most part) and only the Beta cells are destroyed by ones own immune system. That can be from various causes (I for example got that as a chickenpox complication). The risk for immediate death isn't all that high and you will 100% notice the increase of BG levels in time to act on it due to excessive thirst and urination followed by puking, headache and sweating. Type 2 makes insulin like normal, but it's either not enough for fat or the organism becomes somewhat resistant to insulin and cannot use it effectively on it's own. That is treated by medicine that boosts the organisms insulin intake. You can get it from obesity and lack of exercise or sometimes in old age. This can also evolve into a insulin dependant type 2 diabetes.
4 :
Type I: Yes, insulin dependent... seems to often be due to an immune sequel reaction to Coxackie Virus B4. Plus, certain other HLA/MHC genes have been shown to confer increased risk of development of type I. Type II: Non Insulin Dependent... Yes being overweight is a very common cause of this form of diabetes but it IS NOT the only thing that matters although most people are lead to believe this one condition (obesity) invariably causes the other (diabetes). The fact is there are genetic defects and markers, about 20 genes identified so far and some 140 mutations, which lend people to develop type II diabetes. Most of these gene defects are in genes coding for GLUT channels 2 and 4. GLUT 2 is found mostly in your liver and pancreatic cells and doesn't require insulin to transport glucose into the cells, GLUT 4 which is commonly found in muscle and adipose cells DOES need insulin to function. Try to maintain proper diet and exercise, but never believe that living a healthy lifestyle is a 100% safeguard from all the different disorders humans develop because it just decreases risk... it never eliminates it all together.

Other causes of diabetes mellitus type 2

Other causes of diabetes mellitus type 2?
anyone knows what are the other causes of diabetes mellitus type 2 besides food and diet?

Here i s an excellent site with some wonderful options for you. It will definitely help you. Have a look. http://doctors38.notlong.com/6AAsZSA
2 :
Do you mean, what else can cause a person to have type 2 diabetes besides having a poor diet? Being fat, heavy, obese. Lack of exercise. Genetic predisposition (look up MODY mature onset diabetes of the young) Ethnic makeup (indian, native american, hispanic) Age. You don't have to be fat, not exercise, or eat a poor diet to get type 2 diabetes. Genetics plays a big role. I have known many fat, couch potatoes who have never had a sugar problem. They may be at risk for it, but never get it. Same thing with cancer. Not all smokers get lung cancer, and not everyone who gets lung cancer, smokes (like Dana Reeve). Here is my brief experience with diabetes: My great-grandma was a Sioux indian off the reservation. My mother has had diabetes since 30. She has always been on insulin. She was a little chunky, but on fat. Her sugars can go up very high. She was just hospitalized this year with a sugar of 1420. My uncle died from complications of diabetes at 45. He was obese. I had gestational diabetes 3x. I was a size 2-4 when I failed my diabetes test. I had asked to be tested early (at 12 weeks instead of 26 weeks) because of my family history. The doctors told me I couldn't possibly have it. They told me "Your thin, not old, and active. You couldn't possibly have it." I insisted. They gave me the test. I was right and they were wrong. I 've had two 9 lb., one 10 lb., and one 11 lb. baby. Three of the babies were one week early. Genetics play a big role.
3 :
Food and diet ARE NOT causes of type 2 diabetes they may be contributing factors, the main cause is heredity
4 :
people say genetics is the cause for diseases, but that's not entirely true, genetic factors just mean that there is a risk for developing such and such disease. It is not the cause, no matter what they say. I'm type 1 diabetic, and no one I mean nobody in my family stretching back for 3 generations has diabetes at all, not my brothers either. So I think and feel that diabetes comes from a person's immune system attacking and destroying itself which can happen from viruses etc.., that is another reason.. Diabetes is on the rise a lot as of late, and I don't care what evidence says not all of these new cases are genetically related. If someone's obese and has been for years and eats fried foods, and lots of cheap sugar products they will get diabetes and probably cancer too.

Is it right to consume honey while I have diabetes mellitus type 2

Is it right to consume honey while I have diabetes mellitus type 2?
sugar is strictly forbidden for diabetes patients but some alternative medicine mix honey to their medicine

1 :
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Sugar is sugar is sugar. Do NOT eat anything with sugar. Syndrome X, Diabetes Mellitus, sugar is NOT your friend, not of any kind. Use Cinnamon cassia if you MUST have something to change the taste. Also begin to eat properly 75% of the Diabetes cure is diet. It usually takes a person between 1 - 2 years to cure themselves of Diabetes if they simply make better food choices. For example, eat tons of fiber...and I mean tons... ever for breakfast. Eat tons of Oatmeal. Do NOT eat fried foods, or dairy products, or eat fruits. (fruits are filled with sugar) Do NOT drink fruit juices, do NOT! Drastically change your diet and watch you sugar go down. Lose weight. Exercise for at least 37 minutes everyday... and watch your Blood sugar begin to go back to the normal ranges. Diet and Exercise is EVERYTHING to do with long life and supreme health. Try it, you will love it!
2 :
No - unfortunately - honey is just sugar... it's a pretty neat sugar. But no more sugar for you. Get a bottle of Stevia from the health food store - it's not too expensive. A few drops in food will sweeten things. Stevia is a root from S. America which they grind up. So it's a natural thing.
3 :
Clinical studies have shown that pure honey is a healthier choice in diabetic diet than table sugar and other non-nutritive sweeteners such as saccharin, aspartame. Honey requires lower levels of insulin compared to regular white sugar and does not raise blood sugar levels as rapidly as table sugar, that is, it has a lower Glycemic Index than sugar. Although honey contains a significant amount of sugar, it consists largely of two simple individual units of sugar - glucose and fructose, which are absorbed at different rates into the body. With appropriate control, many diabetics are still able to safely enjoy natural honey. However, each diabetic is different and has to learn how his or her body reacts to different foods. Their doctor should first be consulted before incorporating honey into their meal planning. Every diabetic should check with their dietician on how much honey can be consumed on a daily basis, bearing in mind that the total amount of carbohydrates in a food is the key, not the amount of sugar, and honey is a carb food as well, just like rice, potatoes. Just keep in mind that 1 tablespoon of honey has approximately 17 grams of carbohydrate, and taking that into account when counting your total daily intake of carbohydrates, diabetics can work it out just like any other sweetener or carbohydrates. Also, when purchasing commercial honey for diabetic patients, be sure that it is not adulterated by glucose, starch, cane sugar, and even malt, which is to better to be avoided in a diabetic diet.
4 :
Count your carbs as usual.
5 :
No. For any diabetic, honey is just as bad as sugar. It is pure concentrated carbs! You need to avoid high carb foods if you want good control, and to avoid complications. If you want something sweet use Stevia or Splenda packets. Do NOT use the Splenda Blend as it has sugar in it. Good luck!

Finding a chart for NIDDM in children for that area is going to be next to impossible. Suffice to say, you might be able to derive some useful info from this study: http://darwin.nmsu.edu/~molbio/diabetes/disease.html Bear in mind that NIDDM is increasing in all countries and all age groups where the population is adopting the western style of living.... eating crappy prepared foods and sitting around watching TV. Also bear in mind that in civilizations that adhere to the old world way of life, natural foods and high physical activity levels, don't know what type two diabetes is. All one has to do is look at the diets and daily activity levels of the various populations around the globe. India, in particular is an interesting study. Read this: http://www.hindu.com/2004/04/18/stories/2004041803250500.htm It's the lousy food and lack of activity, folks.
